PROBLEMS ISSUES AND DIFFICULTIES FACED BY THE DISTRICT GOVT. SHANGLA

District Shangla is one of the most backward and poorest district of the NWFP. This district is facing a lot of problems and difficulties. some of these are as  under.

1. Majority of the people of the District are deprived of the basic facilities of life Provision of Health, education, drinking supply and roads, are the basic needs of the area. District Govt have very limited development funds, which could not meet the basic needs and requirements of the peoples. hence this poorest district needs special attention of the high ups and special development packages.

2.  Poverty is the main issue of the district. The provincial Govt May give special attention for the poverty refection in the District.

3. Un-employment is another problem face by the District Govt Shangla. The provincial Govt may reserve special quota in employment for the un-employed educated youths of the District.

4. Social Sector (Health, Education and water Supply) needs special attention of the provincial Govt. for improvement and development.

5. In the whole district there is exist no playground for the students of three colleges and 32 high and higher secondary schools. Construction of playground/stadium is the most important need of the district.

6. For Govt. officer/official there exist no offices as well as residential accommodation, except a few small quarters. Almost all the Govt. offices are in rented building. Similarly officer/official are residing in rented accommodation . Construction of District secretariat and Govt. residential colony at District headquarter Alpuri is highly necessary

7. On and off delegation of officers of provincial Govt. as well as federal Govt. and Foreign delegations pay their visits to district Shangla in connection of their official business. However, district Govt. Shangla have no proper accommodation for their stay at the district head quarter. construction of Govt. Circuit House/rest House is on of the needs of the district.

8. Construction of Bachelor staff hostel is one of the need of the District.

9. There is a total genuine need of 35 Govt. vehicles for the Govt. officers of the devolved Govt. Department However only 9 vehicles are available. with the District Govt. Hence most of the entitled officers are without Govt. vehicles, due to which they are facing great difficulties in the discharge of their official duties. This Phenomena has adversely affected the over all efficiency of the district. Enough funds are available with the district Govt for the purchase of vehicles, however, provincial Got. has issued NOC for the purchase of 06 Nos new Suziki Jeeps which are not suitable for this area. The District Govt. has requested the Provincial Govt. for re-consideration as special case and issuance of NOC for the purchase of 4x4 double cabin Toyota pick ups instead of Suzuki jeep. However the provincial Govt. has regretted the request of the District Govt

10. In District Shangla there exist so many beautiful and scenic tourist spots, however, up till now no proper attention have been given by the Govt. for development of these tourist spots. Special attention of the Govt. is required of development of tourism potential of the district, which can bring change in economic life of the people in the District.
