DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES IN THE DISTRICT

 

 District Shangla is one of the poorest District of the NWFP. There is an intensive need of development in each and every sector like communication, Health , Education, Drinking water supply and Sanitation, Agriculture etc. A lot of funds are needed for these development activities. It is however not possible for the district government to cope with all these demands in its very limited resources.

District Shangla does not have any resources for funds generation. Regarding development activities District Shangla is totally depend upon provision of fund by Provincial Govt, Federal Govt, Foreign donors etc. At the moment very limited funds have been provided by the federal and Provincial Govt, for small/minor developmental activities in the District.

Fund provided under the following developmental programs of the Govt.

  • PROVINCIAL ANNUAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ( PROVINCIAL ADP)

  • KHUSHAL PAKISTAN PROGRAM-I (KPP-I)

  • TAMEER-E-SARHAD PROGRAM (TSP)

  • CHIEF MINISTER DIRECTIVES

  • EDUCATION SECTORS REFORMS PROGRAMS (ESR)

  • SOCIAL ACTION PROGRAM (SAP)

  • PRESIDENT PROGRAM

  • MALAKAND RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (MRDP)

  • WAPDA PROJECTS

DISTRICT ANNUAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS (DISTRICT ADPs)

Funds for District ADP has been allocated by the Provincial Govt. to District Shangla under Provincial Finance Commission Award (PFC). In the year 2001-02 funds allocated to the District under Khushal Pakistan Program (KPP). In the year 2002-03 and onward funds were allocated under PFC awards. TAMMER-E-SARHAD PROGRAM-I (KPP-I)

Under TSP 2002-03 provincial Government has allocated a sum of Rs. 10 Millions to District Shangla for development works in both the constituencies of District Shangla i.e.P.F-87 Shangla-I and PF-88 Shangla-II.

Different Projects/Schemes have been completed under this program on the recommendation of both the MPA,s of the district. Details of Schemes completed under this program are as under
